2020 A to Z Challenge

It's time to share your 2020 vision and sign up for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge!

I participated in this blog hop for seven years (2011 - 2017) and I enjoyed it very much. I learned so much and met some amazing individuals in the blogosphere. Unfortunately, I've become a workaholic (luckily I mostly love my job), and it has left me little time to commit to regular posting and commenting. I still highly recommend this endeavor to anyone who CAN commit the time and who wants to grow their online support system, or just enjoy a month of contribution.

2019 A to Z Challenge Sign Ups and Theme Reveals

It's almost time for the annual "A to Z" blogging challenge. Ten years ago, 100 bloggers made a commitment to post the alphabet daily for a month, and at its height, there were several thousand participants. 

I myself participated for quite a few years. I enjoyed the experience greatly. It became a very inspiring, motivation, and educational experience each year. I made many blogging friends that I still keep up with, and even earned a few publications due to the exposure.

While the way it is held, run, and maintained has changed over the years, the spirit of fun and friendship has not waned. Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate this year. I have just taken on too much at work to commit the appropriate amount of time to blogging for a solid month. I still hope to visit many of the participants though.

Most of the repeat participants have already begun planning their posts for this April, and have begun posting theme reveals. While a theme is not a necessary requirement to participate, some feel it makes the challenge more interesting, fun, or cohesive. The theme reveal form closes on March 28 if you haven't made it over there yet. Are there any themes you would particularly care to see, or learn about in April?

This year is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY! The Great and Powerful A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal!

It’s officially “theme reveal” day! Every year since 2013, it has been a tradition for A to Z participants to reveal their Challenge themes ahead of time - on a day we lovingly titled The Great And Powerful Theme Reveal! With less than two weeks left before the Challenge begins, that day - IS TODAY!

One of the most burning questions participants ask themselves every year is: "Should I have a theme?" Themes are not mandatory, but definitely fun. They let your visitors know what to expect, create excitement and anticipation, and help you write posts that line neatly up from A to Z.

As you probably already know, this year we are doing the Challenge without a Linky list. This means that people will be posting the links to their posts each day on the official blog page, as well as on social media (see the details here!). 

AND NOW, MY PERSONAL THEME…SCOTLAND!

Last May I traveled to Scotland for several weeks. As descendants of Scottish heritage, my mom, aunt, cousin, and I all decided to visit and travel the land of some of our ancestors. All through April I'll be sharing how that trip affected me. The research I’ve conducted, photos I’ve taken, my reading, and my writing since then have been greatly influenced by Scottish art, architecture, writers, design, films, history, music, and more.

I hope you’ll join me throughout the month as I share my love for this beautiful country!
