Kindness: Doing Good

I want to teach my children to have a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. Prayer habits that last a lifetime are most often formed in childhood. As adults model meaningful prayer lives, kids will learn how they, too, can talk to their Creator. That’s why each day this month I will be writing a prayer inspired by a different letter of the alphabet and sharing an accompanying verse from the Bible.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does.
Ephesians 6:7-8

Dear God, thank You for the many opportunities we have to bring happiness to each other. Keep us committed to the daily kindnesses that make life pleasant and joyful. Inspire us to reach out to others with acts of caring, kindness, and consideration. Let us be there with friendly greetings, helpful hands, and understanding hearts. Amen.

Amen! We used the same word for K. Yours in the spiritual sense, mine in the trying to survive as a writer sense. I think I needed yours more. Thanks.

What a wonderful challenge theme! Prayer is something I need to work on with my children, as I definitely agree that lasting habits are formed in childhood. Thanks for the reminder--and thanks for following my blog. I'm following back!

This is a fabulous theme. I was not raised in a faith-filled household and have had a bumpy road to finding Christ. I am still uncomfortable with prayer to this day. When God blessed me with my son 5 years ago, I knew I wanted him to have a much better faith-filled upbringing than myself. I am proud to say that he says his prayers himself at 5 years old. I listen outside his bedroom door and my heart melts at his little voice sounding so earnest as he thanks Jesus for loving him even when he makes bad choices.

Great A to Z. New follower.
