APRIL 1 QUESTION - If you have a playlist (or could put one together) that either gets you in the groove to write or fits with one of your books, what is it? What type of music or what songs?

MY ANSWER - My playlists change frequently but often highlights hits from the 1980s and 90s. While I enjoy other time periods, those seem to be the ones I'm drawn to the most, but the genre changes based on mood and needs. I'm just as likely to listen to classical as rap and enjoy country just as much as rock and pop. I'm fortunate to have a family that loves music just as much as I do so they are just as eclectic in their tastes.

FEBRUARY QUESTION -  Blogging is often more than just sharing stories. It’s often the start of special friendships and relationships. Have you made any friends through the blogosphere?

MY ANSWER - I have made a lot of friends through blogging. I wouldn't consider any of them my best friends, or inner circle, but I have greatly enjoyed several connections. There are support systems, and inspiring individuals that I have met through this craft, and I am so very thankful for each of them.

OCTOBER QUESTION - When you think of the term working writer, what does that look like to you? What do you think it is supposed to look like? Do you see yourself as a working writer or aspiring or hobbyist, and if latter two, what does that look like?

MY ANSWER - I feel like a working writer could be anyone who receives pay for their services - hopefully on a regular basis. I see myself as more of a hobbyist now that I spend so much time teaching at the high school and college level. While I am still publishing it is not on a regular or consistent schedule. I write when I have time or the mood strikes. I get published when someone else finds it worthy or matching their own goals.

SEPTEMBER QUESTION - If you could choose one author, living or dead, to be your beta partner, who would it be and why?

MY ANSWER - Without hesitation - Nora Roberts. As a bestselling author of multiple genres I would love to get her advice and insight. Attending a conference with her would be another dream.

AUGUST QUESTION -  Quote: "Although I have written a short story collection, the form found me and not the other way around. Don't write short stories, novels or poems. Just write your truth and your stories will mold into the shapes they need to be."

Have you ever written a piece that became a form, or even a genre, you hadn't planned on writing in? Or do you choose a form/genre in advance?

MY ANSWER - I've been intentionally writing short stories for a while. Most of my pieces are intentionally one form, or genre, over another.
