Renewing: Emotions and Your Mind

I want to teach my children to have a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. Prayer habits that last a lifetime are most often formed in childhood. As adults model meaningful prayer lives, kids will learn how they, too, can talk to their Creator. That’s why each day this month I will be writing a prayer inspired by a different letter of the alphabet and sharing an accompanying verse from the Bible.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

Lord, sometimes I feel like my emotions need a makeover. I have done many foolish things and I am sorry. Renew me – transform me so I can be balanced and healthy in my emotions. I don’t want to be the way I used to be. I want to be wise and enjoy sound thinking. I want to make good decisions in how I express myself in words and actions. I pray for more discernment, so that in whatever comes my way, I will have the grace to think, speak and act with a good and godly attitude. Help me to know Your will and have a mind that is renewed. Amen.

Rom. 12:2 is one of my favorites. We will never find peace on this earth, comes only from allowing God to readjust our thinking. Thank you!

I enjoyed your post and I'll be sure to follow. I'm reminded of Mathew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
