Gifts: From the Great Giver

I want to teach my children to have a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. Prayer habits that last a lifetime are most often formed in childhood. As adults model meaningful prayer lives, kids will learn how they, too, can talk to their Creator. That’s why each day this month I will be writing a prayer inspired by a different letter of the alphabet and sharing an accompanying verse from the Bible.

We all have different gifts, each of which came because of the grace God gave us.
Romans 12:6

Glorious Father, on top of Your forgiveness, salvation, and love, You have given us special gifts. You could have made us all alike. But You made us all unique, endowed us with free will and gave us different gifts. Help us to identify our gifts and show us how to use them in an exciting and productive way. Amen.

Inspiring post, Sylvia. These words we write, and the ability to put them into a legible, logical form is such a wonderful gift from God. Write on, sistah writer!

Beautiful prayer. And I am most touched by your point of how He could have made us all the same, made all little replicas that see, smell, hear all things in the exact same way. But we have different gifts and our differences are a gift as well.

I was watching an Easter special on the History channel last evening. One of the people was obsessed with John the Baptist, almost equating him at times, to Jesus.

She claims that John taught Jesus how to pray, then Christ taught the disciples. I turned the channel after that. Who could teach Jesus how to pray?
