Hm. I was a voracious reader... I read a lot in Beverly Cleary's "Henry Huggins" series. (Just found out Ms. Cleary is still alive, at 98! Yay!)
I've gotta say Dr. Seuss, J.K. Rowling, Emily Rodda, and Garth Nix.
