I enjoyed a wonderful time with friends at a writer's workshop today. One of the speaker's, Laurie Kolp, talked with us about "Poetic Inspiration".
Once upon a time, I wrote a lot of poetry - nothing great, but I enjoyed the genre very much when I was younger. Her talk reminded me how much I enjoyed poetry, and then I won a drawing for "The Crafty Poet" (seen on the right). She has a poem inside as well, (page 68 for those of you who may have a copy) and I look forward to reading the book.
Laurie has a book of her own poetry coming out next month, Upon the Blue Couch, from WINTER GOOSE PUBLISHING. To learn more about Laurie or her book, please visit her author page: http://wintergoosepublishing.com/authors/laurie-kolp/ or you can click on her name above to visit one of her blogs.
Have any of you read "The Crafty Poet"? Do you write Poetry?

I am so glad you are inspired to get back into writing poetry, Sylvia! I know you'll love The Crafty Poet, too. Thanks for everything.
Congratulations! No I havent read the book the Crafty poet. Sounds like one I should pick up. I love poetry and I have played around with writing since I was a young child. I do some poetry writing still. Not very good at it. But it is a good way to express and let feelign go. I enjoy good writing prompts as well. Glad you were re inspired. Blessings
I haven't read The Crafty Poet, but I do write poetry from time to time. One of these days I would like to attend a poetry workshop. Congrats on winning the book.
I have a copy of THE CRAFTY POET and find it very helpful. Poetry helps me in my fiction writing. I've learned a lot about language and getting rid of unnecessary words by studying poetry.
Thanks all! I'm excited. New books are always great.
