Fifty years ago this month, Scholastic published the original
CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG book by Norman Bridwell. The BIG in the 5th annual
"BE BIG In Your Community Contest," is an annual contest which
invites everyone to take action and raise awareness for how Clifford's BIG

Friend, Believe in Yourself, Have Respect, Work Together and Be Truthful) can
make the world a better place. This contest is open to anyone age 2-70 (minors will need parental consent). Enter now for the chance to bring your BIG Idea
to life with a $5,000 community grant. Other prizes consist of 5 $1,000 first
prize grants. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District
of Columbia. Contest ends
June 23, 2013. For more information: http://camarillo.macaronikid.com/town/camarillo/article/438435/5th-annual-be-big-in-your-community-contest
I just entered my Girl Scout troop in the contest. We have six girls working toward their Gold Award and are devising six different 80-hour sustainable community service projects to be completed over the next few years. This could help us out in the fundraising department. Thanks!

What a great idea! Is this just for the residents of Camarillo?
ReplyDeleteRosaria - I believe it's open to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of Clifford from when my kiddos were little-- it was such a positive and sweet cartoon. What a wonderful idea!
