I want to teach my children to have a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. Prayer habits that last a lifetime are most often formed in childhood. As adults model meaningful prayer lives, kids will learn how they, too, can talk to their Creator. That’s why each day this month I will be writing a prayer inspired by a different letter of the alphabet and sharing an accompanying verse from the Bible.
Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires…be made new in the attitude of your minds; and…put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22-24
Dear Lord, our outlook on life is based on our heart and mind. Cleanse us from worldly views and grant us a sincere desire to live as You did: obedient in thought, word, action and attitude. Amen.
Good luck with this. I hope you get a lot of joy out of it.

Come Thursday, I'm taking part in our church's Living Last supper. It's interesting to think about how the apostles struggled with understanding Jesus, and their role in spreading the word.
ReplyDeleteGuess if they grappled with obedience and understanding even as they stood beside the Teacher, it's okay that I struggle, 2,000 years after the fact. I find hope in that.

ReplyDeleteOh wow! I LOVE this idea. Can't wait to read more prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy parents modeled meaningful prayer lives for my brother, sister, and I. We even prayed as a family. I'm so glad they raised us the way they did! It's helped mold me into the woman of God that I am today.
Thanks for this post!

ReplyDeleteEven though I am not a religious person, I find comfort in the faith of others. Prayers are a beautiful things...a meditation, a voiced hope for humanity. Thank you for sharing. I'll be back again. :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to start off. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat opening post - and it is an ongoing struggle - but with such rewards possible...
ReplyDeleteLiving as Jesus did can be a bit tricky, since our world is so very different from his.
ReplyDeleteBut faithful in thought, word, action, and attitude is good, in any context.
I don't know where I'd be without prayer. I love praying and have a deep, testimony that my prayers are heard and answered.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Great luck with it! :)
